Windows allows the installation of font files in TTF, WOFF, OTF, EOT, and SVG formats. Sorry that the program doesn’t have system font preview yet, but you can write a suggestion to either team - they’re pretty responsive about feedback and if you write it out in a nice way, they will probably listen to it. If you were using FireAlpaca, remember to save your project before closing it. Or do a quick preview by just going through the drop-down list in Wordpad, So what I do to get around this is open a wordpad (or even a Notepad/similar program) and make a list of fonts I like, so I can always have something to pick. If you use the app version of Medibang Paint, it should preview those same cloud fonts always.
